On March 13, the School of Humanities convened its faculty conference for the new semester at the Auditorium of the Institute of Chinese Classics. The meeting was attended by Ma Zili, Dean of the School; Yi Ling, Party Committee Secretary; Vice Deans Xie Xiaoxia, Liang Liyong, Gao Zhizhong, Feng Junhao, and all faculty and staff members. The meeting was presided over by Secretary Yi Ling.
Dean Ma Zili outlined the key tasks for the new semester. He began by thanking the faculty for their hard work and dedication over the past year. He stressed the importance of adhering to the principle of "consolidating foundations and exploring potential" to address shortcomings while building distinctive strengths. Dean Ma emphasized that the School's development must align closely with the university's overall strategic goals, advancing high-quality, connotative development by deepening academic influence and expanding international collaboration. Highlighting 2026 as the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, he called on all faculty to strengthen their awareness of potential challenges, bottom-line thinking, competitive spirit, and the overall situation awaerness. Guided by the university’s "Double First-Class" initiative, the School will focus on enhancing disciplinary strengths, cultivating high-quality talent, and fostering high-level scientific research. He concluded by encouraging continued collaboration and innovation to propel the School to new heights.
Secretary Yi Ling addressed Party building, student affairs, and union work. For Party building, efforts will center on six key tasks: advancing education on proper performance outlook; guiding the 15th Five-Year Plan; deepening exemplary Party building initiatives; enriching cultural influence; strengthening service and support; and ensuring security. Regarding student affairs, she emphasized maintaining stability and prioritizing high-quality graduate employment. For union work, she underscored the goal of fostering a warm, supportive community.
Subsequently, Vice Deans presented their respective plans. Xie Xiaoxia focused on standardizing research operations, including project application guidance, academic events, and project completion reviews. Liang Liyong highlighted enhancing service efficiency and addressing faculty and student needs. Gao Zhizhong prioritized high-level talent recruitment, faculty development, and improving postgraduate training. Fung Chunho outlined initiatives for innovative enrollment promotion, international affairs, and ensuring laboratory safety and orderly operation.
