41st Session of the "Enterprise Visits for Job Promotion Campaign" by the School of Humanities: Visit to Nanshan District Media Convergence Center

Recently, Yi Ling, Party Secretary of the School of Humanities at Shenzhen University, led a delegation to the Nanshan District Media Convergence Center for the "Enterprise Visits for Job Promotion Campaign." Qiu Jiazhou, Executive Deputy Minister of the Nanshan District Committee’s Publicity Department, Li Zhen, Director of the Nanshan District Media Convergence Center, Gao Zhizhong, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities, Li Shizhuo, student affairs officer, Zhou Meng, Dean Assistant, and Chang Yu, Head of the Department of History, participated in the event.

Qiu Jiazhou extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the School of Humanities. He noted that with strong support from the district committee and government, the Nanshan District Media Convergence Center has achieved leapfrog development, with flagship accounts such as "Innovative Nanshan" becoming benchmark brands in regional publicity. As an alumnus of Shenzhen University, he highly recognized the distinctive traits of Shenzhen University students, describing them as "practical, grounded, and highly effective in execution." In line with the center’s current focus on creating high-quality content, he expressed hope to leverage the academic expertise of the School of Humanities in literature, history, and philosophy, thereby infusing media content with deeper cultural depth. Qiu emphasized that university-media collaboration is a mutually beneficial initiative. The Nanshan District Media Convergence Center plans to deepen cooperation with the School of Humanities by providing high-quality practical platforms for students while also tapping into the university’s intellectual resources to jointly produce thoughtful and humanistic media content. Li Zhen added that the center will comprehensively open internship positions, welcoming humanities students to find roles matching their interests, and will provide comprehensive training to enhance interns’ practical experience.

Yi Ling introduced the School of Humanities’ educational profile and core disciplinary strengths. She highlighted that the Nanshan District Media Convergence Center is a high-quality, "close-at-hand" practical platform whose development direction aligns closely with the school’s talent cultivation philosophy. The visit aimed to "build bridges, seek cooperation, and promote development." Through university-media collaboration, students can step out of the classroom, engage with urban development, and hone their professional skills in practical settings. At the same time, leveraging the school’s academic expertise in literature, history, and philosophy, both parties can co-create content to infuse urban development with humanistic warmth.

Gao Zhizhong shared insights into the school’s disciplinary development, proposing content co-creation on traditional culture through platforms like the Palace Museum Research Institute to support cultural outreach. Li Shizhuo outlined the school’s talent cultivation efforts, emphasizing the strong humanistic literacy of humanities students, which aligns with the center’s need for in-depth content production. She expressed hope for deeper collaboration, leveraging the center’s communication channels to amplify the School of Humanities’ development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. Zhou Meng introduced undergraduate training and internship practices, suggesting joint cultivation through the appointment of "external mentors." Chang Yu presented the profile of the history discipline faculty and students, proposing project-based cooperation to professionally empower media needs.
