The 2026 Awards Ceremony for the Hou Po Woon Humanities Scholarship was recently held at the School of Humanities, Shenzhen University (SZU), honoring outstanding students dedicated to the study of Chinese humanities.

Established by the Hong Kong Ching Chung Taoist Association in memory of Mr. Hou Po Woon to promote the inheritance and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture, the scholarship has expanded significantly since its inception. Initially funding 16 graduate students annually in Chinese Language and Literature and Philosophy, the program welcomed additional support from the Huanglong Ancient Temple in 2024. In 2025, the scholarship further extended its reach to include undergraduates, now supporting a total of 32 students each year.

Marking its 14th year, the scholarship has donated a cumulative total of RMB 711,200, benefiting 265 students. The ceremony highlighted the enduring commitment of the donors to fostering academic excellence and cultural preservation.
